Compounds with lead antimonate structure

A number of new compounds with lead antimonate (PbSb2O6) structure are reported, viz. LaMeTeO6 (Me = Al, Ga, Fe, Rh), BiMeTeO6 (Me = Cr, Ga), LaMeSbO6 (Me = Ge, Sn), LaMe0·5 Sb1·5O6 (Me = Al, Cr, Ga, Fe, Rh, In) and LaMe13Sb53O6 (Me = Mg, Co, Ni, Cu). Some aspects of their crystal chemistry as well as their optical absorption spectra are discussed. The luminescence of materials based on LaAlTeO6 is dealt with.
