It is shown that a beam formed from a uniformly shaded receiving array that can be partitioned into a symmetric array pair and which uses uniform incremental electrical delays is steerable in almost uniform pointing increments over small angles. This result assumes that the beam pointing direction is defined by the difference beam null. A specific discrete beam spacing is achieved by a unique choice of beamformer delay increment or integer submultiples of that delay increment. A relationship is derived for determining that delay increment.
