We read with great interest the recent report by Hagensen et al. [ [1] Hagensen M.K. Mortensen M.B. Kjolby M. et al. [1] for their interest in our work. We apologize if we have given the impression that we used t-tests to conclude on individual differentially regulated genes. This is not the case. Our initial analysis of the data for individual differentially regulated genes, corrected for multiple testing, did not reveal any genes with genome-wide significance. Instead, we report in our paper an over-representation analysis [2], which we used to test for enrichment of genes from four gene sets that we had previously found to be associated with LDL retention in areas of flow disturbance [3].
