摘要
Potassium ion batteries (KIBs) have gained most attention due to the abundant resource and similarity electrochemical behavior to lithium ion batteries (LIBs), can meet the needs of electrochemical energy storage application due to the low cost, long cycle life and high energy density. However, the large radius and mass of K-ions pose new challenges to develop new electrode materials for high performance KIBs. Recently, transition metal sulfides attracted a great deal of attention due to their high capacity, safety, environment-friendly and high availability. Moreover, the intrinsic interlaminar nanostructures and typical narrow band gap semiconductor properties are more advantageous and have broad application prospects in KIBs. In this chapter, we will summarize the recent progress of metal sulfide for KIBs, including synthesis method, structure, and performance, and points out that KIBs need develop electrode materials further for the practical applications.
