Objective To study the protention to human lens epithelial cells of syringic acid extracted from Dendrobium Noble in oxidation condition. Methods The second generation human lens epithelial cell(HLEC) were cultured in H_2O_2 and the syringic acid extracted the Dendrobium nobile's of different concentration for 24h.There were divided into 5 groups, which is normal control group(HLEC + DMEM),positive control group(normal control group +500 μmol/L H_2O_2),syringic acid high dose group(positive control group +0.4 g/L syringic acid),syringic acid medium dose group(positive control +0.2 g/L syringic acid),syringic acid low dose group(positive control +0.1 g/L syringic acid),The morphous changes of the cells were then observed when they were intervened in different concentration of syringic acid. The effect of different concentration of syringic acid to the growing of HLEC in H_2O_2 was determined by MTT assay.Result The HLEC's death rat increased and the growth was inhibited in high H_2O_2,the rate of inhibition was 52.99%,there was significant difference between the survival rate Compared with the other groups,P0.05.Few rate HLEC died in high H_2O_2 which was intervened by syringic acid, their growing was good and the morphous was not destroyed. The HLEC's survival rate was 79.97% in medium dose syringic acid,Compared with the group of high and relatively low doses of syringic acid, there was a significant difference,P0.05.Conclusion The morphous of HLEC were abnormal, the amount of cell decreaed in H_2O_2;the morphological changes of HLEC and amount's decrease were delayed and prevented after intervened by syringic acid, maintained HLEC'S inhere characteristics, showing that syringic acid could protect HLEC from being damaged by H_2O_2.
