Effect of ρ-Al_2O_3 and calcium aluminate cement on performances of high alumina castable bonded by aluminum phosphate

The effect of ρ-Al2O3 and aluminate cement on the performances of high alumina castable bonded by aluminum phosphate were studied.High alumina castable bonded by phosphate was prepared by high alumina bauxite grog and sintered alumina powder(α-Al2O3) or tabular alumina and α-Al2O3,the alumina phosphate and ρ-Al2O3 were added as bonding agent.The results indicated that the hardening velocity of castable would be slower when ρ-Al2O3 was added only,and the construction performance of castable would be worse with ρ-Al2O3 content increases.The high temperature properties of castable would be worse when aluminate cement was added only.The hardening effect of castable would be better when ρ-Al2O3 and aluminate cement were added together and the comprehensive properties would increase significantly.
