摘要
A model of atom jumping is suggested in order to reveal the atomistic mechanism ofgrowth selection in recrystallization of metals. The fcc metals are taken as an example.Their jumping distances and their corresponding relative jumping times of the atoms in grainboundary bearing different orientation relationships to the matrix are calculated and compared. The reasonable explanations, which have not been found so far, of the main grain boundarycharacteristics described in the growth selection theory, such as the high mobility of tiltboundary and the boundary characterized by 40°111 rotation, could be found with thepresent model by further investigation of the substructure in grain boundaries.
