Tissue models based on hydrogel/silicon films are prepared for different applications in the biomedical sector. These customized tissue surrogates can be employed as a platform to evaluate the ability of microneedle insertion, diffusion of drugs, activity of photothermal agents, and the performance of ultrasound bioimaging.
