Brightly emissive octahedral Cu4X4 clusters showing polymorphic-dependent and mechanochromic phosphorescence

A series of octahedral Cu 4 X 4 clusters supported by 2-Py( t -Bu) 2 P and t -BuP(2-Py) 2 ligands exhibit bright phosphorescence as well as polymorphic and mechanochromic luminescence.
