The Photoluminescence (PL) analysis of rare earth Dy ion activated fluoride material base phosphor are prepared by synthesis of combustion route and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), by Photoluminescence (PL) techniques & CIE coordinate with color purity properties have been reported. In the photoluminescence excitation spectrum of prepared Ba2Zn7F18: Dy phosphor shows excitation peaks from ranging 250 nm to 400 nm due to 4f → 4f transitions of Dy3+ ions. In the PL emission spectrum of Dy3+ ion under the 348 nm excitation, it gives two bands i.e. Photoluminescence emission at 482 nm (in blue region) due to its transition 4F9/2 → 6H15/2 and at 574 nm (yellow region) emission and its due to 4F9/2 → 6H13/2 transitions give blue-yellow emissions. The 300 nm to 400 nm wavelength range is commonly used in solid-state lighting phosphors as a mercury-free excitation source. Dysprosium-doped materials have been found to exhibit highly efficient photoluminescence (PL) properties, making them excellent candidates for use as white light emitting diodes (LEDs) or solid-state lighting phosphors.
