Broadening perspectives on leisure service management and research: what does organization theory offer?

Traditional organization theory has either explicitly or implicitly guided most of the practice, teaching, and research in management over the last several decades. This paper discusses the problems of relying on traditional organization theory in leisure service management research and practice. The contributions of additional approaches including interpretive organization theory, critical organization theory, feminist organization theory, and postmodem organization theory are presented.
