Sacrificial Anodes for Cathodic Protection in the Oil Industry in Mexico

Corrosion has a major impact on the economics of facilities, structures, and equipment in the oil and gas industry. Cathodic protection by sacrificial anodes is implemented to prevent, avoid, and minimize corrosion damage. This article describes the development, testing, and application of a local sacrificial anode in Mexico made from an aluminum alloy.
