摘要
This paper examines the effect of clan culture on gender inequality in Chinese companies. We hand-collected the number of ancestral halls to measure clan culture in each city of China and found that clan culture exacerbates gender inequality in the leadership of companies. Additionally, western culture and marketization can mitigate the impact of clan culture.
