Delayed Postanoxic Encephalopathy After Heroin Use

A 16-year-old boy presented in coma and hypoxic from heroin overdose. After initial improvement he lapsed into prolonged coma with decerebrate posturing. His course corresponded to reported cases of delayed postanoxic encephalopathy associated with other causes.
