The adsorbent based on the crosslinked hybrid of poly(vinyl alcohol) and gelatin wassynthesized via reverse suspension polymerization, and the adsorption properties of this kind ofadsorbent were also studied in detail.The results show that the introduction of poly(vinyl alcohol)can effectively protect the hydrogen bond formation among gelatin chains, which leads tohydrogen bonding adsorption mechanism for tannic acid of the obtained adsorbent. Thesimulation application experiment shows that the prepared adsorbent can be used for theselective removal of tannins from some form of Chinese traditional medicines, such as, oralliquids and injections.
