Evaluating the Effect of Herbal Medicine in the Treatment of Depression, From the Viewpoint of Islam and Medical Sciences

Context: Anxiety disorder is one of the most common psychological disorders. Today, many people are anxious because of encountering different problems. Continuation of anxiety may cause disruption in the continuity of life. The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of herbal medicine in the treatment of depression, which is one of the anxiety disorders, from the viewpoint of Quran. Evidence Acquisitions: The present study is a library research. Data were categorized after studying and integrating the Islamic texts and medical science information regarding healing power of herbs. Then the results remained at the disposal of other researchers as a final report. Results: Discovering an angle of Quran and Ahl-e-bait sciences has opened another window to the researchers of the experimental science. Being aware of damages caused by chemical drugs, which have been resulted from experimental researches, the emphasis is on avoiding them. herbal medicine have made the treatment easy. In other words, new findings have passed through mere physical form and enhanced supernatural sciences. Conclusions: Health is a religious value, and taking care of it is a responsibility of any Muslim. God has determined some healing agents for treatment. Healing herbs or herbal medicine are among these agents. In the current study by the help of Islamic texts and integrating them with new medical sciences, this healing power was introduced.
