摘要
There are many methods of determining elasticity that can be used
on ice. These can be divided into laboratory and field studies, and
further divided into static and dynamic determinations. Two
valuable in-place field methods are deflection and seismic. Preliminary
results from a mass of data indicate that the elasticity
of sea ice is less than fresh ice and varies over at least an order of
magnitude. Results obtained from the seismic method are generally
at least an order of magnitude greater than small sample static
values. Preliminary analysis indicates that elasticity can be related
to a parameter which includes temperature, liquid-and air-content.
