N-propanol has multiple potentially hazardous properties such as explosive, toxic, and flammable. Due to the critical application of n-propanol in industrial solvents, a reliable and stable chemical sensor is needed to detect n-propanol effectively. This paper reports a gas sensor based on Zn 2 SnO 4 /SnO 2 prepared by a simple co-precipitation method for n-propanol detection. Electrical test results show that the gas sensor designed in this paper achieves rapid detection of n-propanol with a lower detection limit of up to 0.5 ppm and outstanding stability. The performance improvement may be attributed to the fact that Zn 2 SnO 4 as a promoter and framework effectively enhances the gas-sensitive performance of SnO 2 for alcohols and achieves further segmentation of alcohol detection.
