Fungal infections in agricultural crops can lead to significant reductions in both yield and quality. To identify more potential fungicides, pyrazol-5-yl-quinoline-2-carboxamide derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their fungicidal activities. The bioassay results indicated that compound C-10 exhibited lower EC50 values of 1.71 and 4.92 mg/L against Gaeumannomyces graminis and Valsa mali compared to fluxapyroxad (EC50 = 1.93 and 12.45 mg/L, respectively). The results of the molecular docking and SDH enzymatic inhibition assays could explain the potential action mechanism of compound C-10. This study provides support for the development of pyrazol-5-yl-quinoline-2-carboxamide derivatives as potential fungicides.
