Study on the New Pruning Method and Technology of Poplar

After analyzing the disadvantage of the three main existing pruning methods of poplar,the author successfully found a new pruning method-the Pruning Method by Planting Age and Verticillate Branches.On this basis,new research on the mechanism and necessity of pruning,stand selection criteria,pruning season,pruning age and objective,pruning quality standard and pruning tools have been carried out,it is found that the optimal pruning season is the period before sprouting.
