The technology of converting single-phase AC to three-phase AC has the prospect of wide application in electrified railways and remote mountainous districts. However, the related technical issues have not been well solved for a long time.It is of practical significance to find a single-phase to three-phase conversion technique to supply good price-performance three-phase power where it is needed. In this paper, the split-phase principle and two theoretical schemes to convert one-phase AC to three-phase AC are introduced;the working theory of TCR and TSC is introduced;according to the theory of converting single-phase AC to three-phase AC and the theory of TCR and TSC,the implementation mode of the TCR-based and TSC-based single-phase to three-phase converters is put forward. Thus, the single-phase to three-phase converter applicable to electrified railways and remote mountainous districts is formed.
