EA at ST25 can effectively alleviate the inflammatory lesions and down-regulate the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in UC mice, which may be related to the activation of segmental sympathetic and/or sacral parasympathetic nervous innervating the colon, instead of the activation of descending vagal nerves.
