Cover Picture: Metal–Organic Frameworks via Emissive Metal‐Carboxylate Zwitterion Intermediates (ChemPlusChem 8/2015)

The cover picture shows the mythical Merlion sitting above thermally robust, neutral metal–organic frameworks of metal–carboxylate zwitterions. A rare stepwise synthesis of these frameworks via zwitterionic intermediates using pyridinemethanol-carboxylate ester ligands is reported.
