Research Progress of Protopine

Protopine,a kind of isoquinoline alkaloids,which can be extracted from various natural plants,has great medicinal value,and a wide range of physiological activity mainly including function on platelets,smooth muscle,antiarrhythmic,antimalarial,and analgesic effect and protective effect on liver injury.In recent years,protopine is further applied in the cardiovascular and has attracted wide attention from scholars at home and abroad.Here is to make a review on the pharmacological effects and the main sources of protopine based on the relative literatures,in order to supply reference for making better use and research of protopine.
