Effect of bamboo shape on properties of bamboo/wood LVL

Effect of bamboo shape on physical and mechanical properties of laminated bamboo bundle board was studied in this paper.The results indicated that bamboo element shape had significant effect on physical and mechanical properties of bamboo laminated board and bamboo-wood composite laminated board under the condition of the same lay-up structure,resin impregnation and hot-pressing process.When laminated board mainly was bamboo strip,which could get better mechanical properties but had less dimensional stability;when laminated board mainly was the bamboo bundle,the mechanical properties of laminated board declined,but which could reach the highest level of structural laminated veneer lumber,moreover the adhesion properties and dimensional stability was better than the former.
