Objective To investigate the effects of electroacupuncture on the microcirculation in the hippocampal CA1 region in rats.Methods A laser doppler blood flow monitor was used to record the real time microcirculatory blood flow in the hippocampal CA1 region in rats after electroacupuncture on Renzhong(DU26),Neiguan(PC6) and Quchi(LI11),Zusanli(ST36),Compared with rats after electroacupuncture on Diji(SP8) and control group.Results The microcirculatory blood flow of both lateral hippocampus increased greatly in Renzhong and Neiguan group after electroacupuncture as compared with it before electroacupuncture((P0.05));The microcirculatory blood flow of the both lateral hippocampus decreased greatly in Quchi and Zusanli group after electroacupuncture as compared with it before electroacupuncture(P0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture on Renzhong and Neiguan can increase microcirculatory blood flow in hippocampal CA1 region in rats,while electroacupuncture on Quchi and Zusanli can decrease it.
