摘要
With the proliferation of high-speed Internet and cutting-edge computer and communication network technology, security breaches pose a growing threat. In many areas of computer science, such as network security, intrusion detection, text processing, and information retrieval, pattern matching has emerged as an essential algorithm. In order to protect network systems, it is increasingly important to have a thorough understanding of pattern-matching algorithms due to the increasing variety and complexity of potential attacks. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of both contemporary and conventional pattern-matching algorithms as well as their performance on different parameters. Researchers and practitioners seeking to comprehend cutting-edge pattern-matching algorithms and their potential applications will find this study to be a useful resource. By providing a concise and clear overview of these algorithms, this study aims to raise awareness of pattern matching's crucial role in network security and intrusion detection.
