Potential-pH Diagram of Zinc and its Applications to the Study of Zinc Corrosion

On the basis of methods and conventions previously described (1) and using the available thermodynamic and electrochemical data, the potential‐pH diagram of zinc has been constructed. Derived diagrams showing domains of corrosion, passivity, and passivation in the absence and in the presence of carbon dioxide, bicarbonates, and carbonates are also presented.
