Previous studies on trauma-related psychopathology have focused on negative urgency in relation to risky behaviors. Although it is unclear whether negative urgency is either a temperamental risk factor or a negative consequence for traumatic experiences, only a handful of studies have examined how childhood trauma (CT) influences negative urgency. In this study, we hypothesized that histories of CT would have a positive relationship with negative urgency, and this relationship would be mediated by their PTSD symptoms.
