MXenes Potential in Biomedical and Environmental Applications. MXenes, two-dimensional materials classified as transition metal carbides and nitrides, are currently among the most in-demand materials of the 21st century. Their tunability and superior material properties have attracted significant attention from researchers and developers. MXenes exhibit agility in synthesis and processing and possess indispensable properties such as mechanical, electronic, magnetic, and optical characteristics. Consequently, there are seemingly unlimited applications that offer a clear path toward commercialization. This volume covers recent trends in clinical biomedicine, biomimetics, forensics, and nanobiotechnological advancements using unique inorganic nanosystems. It also highlights the potential applications of MXenes in environmental remediation.
