Geometry-based stochastic modeling approach is one of the most important and popular modeling approaches due to its flexibility: it can be either very simple and thus useful for theoretical investigation of channels, or relatively complicated and useful for simulating real channels. A geometry-based stochastic model (GBSM) is derived from a predefined stochastic distribution of effective scatterers by applying the fundamental laws of wave propagation. This chapter describes regular-shaped GBSMs (RS-GBSMs) in detail. It also introduces a very well-known RS-GBSM for conventional cellular systems and then described new RS-GBSMs that have been developed for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication systems. Irregular-shaped geometry-based stochastic models (IS-GBSMs) are used with the aim of reproducing physical reality and thus need to incorporate modifications to the location and properties of the effective scatterers of RS-GBSMs. The chapter also talks about simulation models for non-isotropic scattering narrowband SISO V2V Rayleigh fading channels.
