Objective To evaluate the effects of home-based aerobic exercises intervention in patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis.Methods Forty-five maintenance hemodialysis patients were recruited in the study.The patients received routine care and guidance of 6 months home-based aerobic exercises intervention.The patients' physical ability,fatigue and quality of life were evaluated by walking speed,Revised Piper Fatigue Scale(RPFS),and The MOS 36-item Short Form Health Survey(SF-36) at the 3rd month and 6th month after intervention.Results After intervention,the normal walking speed and maximum walking speed as well as the scores of physical functioning,general health,vitality and physical component summary were improved(P0.05),the total score and factor scores of fatigue were significantly lower than before(P0.01).Conclusion Home-based aerobic exercises can effectively improve patients' physical ability,relieve fatigue and improve the quality of life.
