Amine nucleophiles bearing at least one hydrogen substituent add across tetraethyl ethynyldiphosphonate to give enamine derivatives, one of which (derived from cyclohexylamine) has been evaluated as an imine anion precursor in alkylation and Wittig-Horner-Emmons types of reactions.
