Lessons and open questions in borderline resectable pancreatic cancer

Evidence-based information for borderline resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is scarce. In The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Paula Ghaneh and colleagues report a four-arm, randomised phase 2 feasibility trial, which provides new exploratory data.1 Patients with borderline resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma were randomly assigned to immediate surgical resection or neoadjuvant gemcitabine plus capecitabine, FOLFIRINOX, or chemoradiotherapy with concomitant capecitabine.
