Editor—Over the last century, the British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA) has maintained its position as an influential and widely read journal within the field of anaesthesia.1 Established in 1923 with the initial goal of providing an independent platform for the emerging specialty of anaesthesia, the journal has evolved significantly over the years.2 Long known for the dissemination of high-quality research in anaesthesia, pain, and critical care medicine, the BJA continues to be an internationally recognised publication with a forward-looking perspective.
