Silver-Catalyzed syn-Stereoselective Trifluoromethoxylation of Bicyclo[1.1.0]butanes

A silver-catalyzed syn-stereoselective halo-trifluoromethoxylation of BCBs was reported. This reaction efficiently yields 1,1,3-trisubstituted cyclobutanes with isolated yields of up to 90%. Additionally, the C1-halide group can function as a leaving group, facilitating the formation of 1,2,3-trisubstituted trifluoromethoxylated cyclobutanes.
