Energy harvesting is the technology which gathers and converts external energies such as light, vibration and heat which are disposed into reusable electrical energy and uses such electrical energy. The vibration energy harvesting is very interesting technology because it produces very high density of energy and unaffected by the climate. This paper presents an approach to linear magnetic generators for use in environments that present high amplitude, low frequency vibrations. A prototype has been developed and several efficiency improvement ideas have been investigated. Experimental vibration shaker test is conducted to assess the performance of the energy harvester.
