Comparative Analysis of Therapeutic Effects between Elbow Anterior and Elbow Lateral Approach for Radial Head Fractures

Objective To analyze therapeutic effects between elbow anterior approach and elbow lateral approach for radial head fractures.Method 36 patients with radial head fractures in department of orthopaedic from January 2009 to December 2011were choosen and divided into research group and control group,each group with 18 cases.All patients were treated with miniature hollow screw fixation line,the patients of research group were used with elbow anterior approach.Control group were used with elbow lateral approach.The operation time and elbow function recovery time of two groups were compared.Results The operation time in research group was 37.3±3.6min,in control group was 41.6±2.9 min.The recovery time of elbow joint function in research group was 246.3±32.1 day,in control group was 285.7±41.7 days.Conclusion The elbow anterior approach is an ideal surgical approach method in the treatment of radial head fractures,it can effectively shorten the operation time,avoid adjacent tissue damage,promote the recovery of elbow joint function.
