Progress in Liver Cancer Stem Cells

The hypothesis of cancer stem cell(CSC)is a new theory regarding the tumorigenesis proposed in recent year.This theory states that not all cells are capable of mutating into tumor,whereas some specific cells develop into tumors and maintain biological properties of tumor.Recent studies show that multiple CSCs are present,including liver cancer.This article reviews the association of liver cancer stem cells with liver cancer,biological characteristics of liver cancer stem cells,and identification markers,in addition to therapeutic regimens,in the sense of research progress in CSCs and liver cancer stem cells.
