In earlier days, filling and packing was done manually; a person had to weigh the product using some means like weighing balance and then fill it to a container and then pack it. This takes lots of labor and time which is the key factor in the mass production as well as in batch production. To reduce the man power in packing field and to increase the productivity, this concept has been developed as an agricultural based product filling and packing machine. Other types of packing machines available in the market are costlier, so we designed a machine that can perform both filling and packing operations with low cost. It consists of hooper, frame, joints, ball etc. This machine is basically designed for packing of areca nut or any other agriculture based products. With the help of this machine we can pack the product easily in less time and also human power. Generally, we can see different packing machines in market for various applications. But in this design, we combined the filling and packing process together. In this setup, dehusked areca nut is filled manually to the hooper. Hooper is the container in which dehusked areca nut is placed. It is square in shape. Areca nut is then directly filled to the bag through the hooper which fills the areca to the bag until the required weight is achieved for pre-defined weight. Then the series of bag is packed one by one by using packing machine. So in this machine, we can perform both filling and packing operations simultaneously so that we can reduce man power used for the process and also less time is consumed as compared to manual processes
