Preparation of epichlorohydrin by cyclic reaction of dichloropropanol with Ca(OH)2 was studied.Optimal conditions for the preparation were obtained by a combination method of single-factor test and orthogonal experiment.Experimental results showed that the optimal conditions for the cyclization of dichloropropanol are as follows: mole ratio of 1/2Ca(OH)2 to dichloropropanol,1.2∶1;reaction temperature,50 ℃;and reaction time,20 s.Under the optimal reaction conditions, the yield of epichlorohydrin achieves 93.1%.
