Microorganisms, which were obtained from enriched sludge, were immobilized on wood chips to eliminate hydrogen sulfide in waste gas. The results showed that the hydrogen sulfide removal efficiency could reach as high as 100% when the inlet hydrogen sulfide concentration raised 641 mg/m3 within 48 hours right after the biofilter was packed. The effect of different volumetric loading on the hydrogen sulfide removal efficiency was detected. When the volumetric loading was as high as 360 g (H2S)/(m d) , the removal efficiency of the biofilter could maintain above 97. 4%. At last, Ks and Vm were quantified through Michaelis-Menten equation. The score of Ks was 242. 75 mg/m3 and Vm is 833. 33 g. Fig 5, Tab 2, Ref 8
