Objective To study the effect of microfiltration-macroporous resin method in purification of oxymatrine and general flavone in sophora flavescens. Methods HPLC was applied to analyze the content of oxymatrine in the samples, and UV-spectrophotometry was applied to analyze the content of general flavone. Results In sophora flavescens decoction, the recovery ratio of oxymatrine and general flavone were 78.88% and 73.4%, the whole solid was decreased by 38.95% by microfiltration-macroporous resin method. Conclusion Microfiltration-macroporous resin method was more effective than alcohol-sedimentation for oxymatrine and general flavone purification in sophora flavescens.
