摘要
The possibility to increase the extent of filling open pores with the aluminum melt during the impregnation of a carbon–graphite material by the deposition of galvanic film coatings on its surface is studied. The following two types of galvanic coatings have been used: a nickel coating and a combined coating comprised of copper and cadmium layers. The coated samples are impregnated using an out-of-autoclave technology in a special-purpose impregnation chamber. The galvanic coatings are shown to facilitate easier penetration of the aluminum melt into pore cavities, providing effective impregnation of a carbon–graphite material with a matrix alloy at low temperatures (<900°C) and pressures (3–5 MPa).
