Determination of Honokiol and Magnolol in Different Specifications of Magnolia Officinalis by HPLC

Objective: To determine quantitatively the content of honokiol and magnolol in different specifications of Magnolia officinalis.Methods:Chromatograp column Hypersil BDS C18(250mm×4.6mm,5μm) was used,mobile phase was methanol: water(80∶ 20).Result: The linear range of honokiol and magnolol were 0.45~230 μg/mL,0.90~110 μg/mL,respectively.The contents of honokiol and magnolol were different obviously in different specifications of samples.Conclusion: There were significantly differences in intrinsic quality of Magnolia officinalis.
