Influence of Methanol Alcohol on Lifespan of Drosophila melanogaster

Objective:To study the effects of methyl alcohol on the lifespan of drosophila melanogaster.Methods:Drosophila melanogaster were divided randomly into four groups and were continuously fed with medium containing 0%,0.1%,0.4% and 1.6%methyl alcohol respectively during entire trial period.The surviving numbers of drosophila melanogaster were observed and recorded daily.Results: Results: The results show that the methyl alcohol can obviously shorten maximum lifespan,mean lifespan,and 50 percent individuals lethal date of drosophila melanogaster.
