Preparation of Oxidized Pellets from Chengchao Iron Concentrate——Experimental Study

Oxidized pellets are prepared using Chengchao iron concentrate as raw material and bentonite as binding agent. Experimentally, the authors study the pelletizing properties of the iron concentrate and the roasting and metallurgical properties of the iron concentrate's oxidized pellets. The results show that suitable conditions for pelletization of the iron concentrete(more than 71% minus 0.074 mm) are as follows: a bentonite dosage of 2.5%, a moisture of 8.5%～9.8% and a pelletizing time of 30 min.
