In the yield of diosgenin as a marker,the alcoholextraction and waterextraction technology about extracting diosgenin from fenugreek seeds were compared,the optimal condition of alcoholextraction were investigated by L(34)orthogonal design.The conclusion can be summarized as follows:the alcoholextraction technology was beneficial to increasing yield of diosgenin;and the sequence of factors that effects diosgenin yield in ethanol extraction is ADBC(A:ethanol concentration; B:the amount of ethanol;C:refluxing number of times;D:refluxing time).The optimal condition obtained is that 50 g of degreased and degummed fenugreek seeds ware refluxed for 3 hours with 600 ml 95%ethanol and the refluxing number of times is 3.
