[Objective]By the pulmonary function test in patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus,to study the diagnostic value of Forced Vital Capacity(FVC) on early pulmonary function changes in patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus. [Methods]56 patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 30 healthy controls were selected, and the micro spirometer was applied to test the pulmonary function. The relationship between FVC and pulmonary function was analyzed. [Results]The decrease in FVC of patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus was 88.8%±93.91%,that of healthy controls was 96.25%±13.34%,and the difference was significant(P0.05).There was a positive correlation between FVC and pulmonary function changes, and FVC can well reflect the early pulmonary function changes in patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus. [Conclusion]FVC can be used as a sensitive index to diagnose the pulmonary function changes of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
