Electrospinning of PVA nanofiber-crosslinked by glutaraldehyde (GA) has been prepared and characterized. The PVA nanofibers have been produced by injecting 10 % w/v of PVA into electrospinning machine. The in-situ method has been used for crosslinking step for 4 hours using 0.5 M glutaraldehyde in acetone toward PVA nanofibers. The Infrared spectra have shown the formation of acetal linkages (-C-OC-) within crosslinked PVA nanofibers as compared to the pristine PVA nanofiber. The SEM images displayed the increment in thickness and diameter up to 250 nm. Improvement of mechanical properties of PVA nanofibers have been observed by elongation values.
